World We Dare to Imagine

Looking back at my personal and professional development I could not have done it without mentorship from others.  Providing advice, helping me avoid mistakes, and directing me towards growth dramatically helped my self improvement and accelerated my career.  This is something that I have realized at even a young age.  Because of this I want the same for others.  Especially those who do not have family members or friends who could provide this advice.  This advice and help from a young age would frontload and save a lot of the stress and problems that might arise later on in life if the advice and mentorship was not given.  This is the reason for starting the Bright Futures Mentorship Organization.   Our mission at this Non-Profit is to connect kids who do not have access to mentors in more poverty stricken areas with mentors. The purpose is to grow a relationship with your mentor, feel comfortable around them, and be able to trust them.  The...

Vaccines

I read about the vaccines from Anna Rothschild.  In this article she talks and creates videos showing the history of vaccines and also provides meaningful facts and figures regarding vaccine and safety. Anna Rothschild, while not stating that she may be related to the actual Rothschilds, has devoted her career to reporting on biology and heath risks to the public.  She has a background at NYU and Brown and has a strong education path within Biology and Vaccines.  The article talks about different facts regarding vaccines. Some of them relate to how vaccines started, while others point to the advancement of vaccines throughout the years. The article is relatively short but the true value is gained from the video where much more information is talked about there.  I have written about each video in depth below. The first video talks about the history of vaccines and goes into a deep dive of the start of them and the impact that it had on the American people but a...

World We Imagine

When we are younger we are all inherently selfish.  Even now in college we are fixated on our path, what can we do to advance ourselves.  This leads me in a weird predicament. At what point is the best thing for others focusing on ourself?  This sentence makes no sense until I provide some context.  I feel like everything when you are young is like putting money in a bank that will all pay off. You do well in middle school which pays into a good high school and then into a good college. Even in college the goal is to do well so that you can get a good job and a great career path.  This is all selfish nature, but theoretically if you are super successful it all should work out.  The exponential path would put you on a higher spot than if you weren't selfish.  In a way this plan is a way that being selfish early on will allow you to have a greater impact when you are older and be more self less.  This whole idea comes from the question: who di...

Random Blog Post 2

I wanted to do this as a precursor to the world we imagine.  I read the passage and that then inspired my random post.  Just because it made me realize the importance of mentorship.  So many things are dependent on how we are raised and grow up.  The way we think, act, and speak are all determined by our environment and what we were told was write and wrong.  This was even more prevalent before the internet.  This reminds me of this mma fighter that grew up to horrible racist parents.  They taught them their racist ways, and that was all he knew.  He didnt know anything else.  It wasnt until he came out of that racist town that he realized how horrible all of that really was.  While this is an isolated instance I do think about how important this really is.  I cant imagine where I would be without the guidance of my parents and family.   This is especially important because of how much I look up to my dad and mom.  My...
